His Highness Prince Abdullah bin Fahd bin Abdullah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation, met with the President of the International Equestrian Federation, Ingmar de Vos, in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The meeting discussed many topics related to equestrian sport and its championships, such as the organization of the World Cup Show Jumping and Dressage in Riyadh in 2024 and the pilot tournament in February 2023 by the Kingdom, and also discussed the details of the solidarity program. and how it can be implemented and benefited for the development of equestrian sport in the Kingdom.
Notably, the International Equestrian Federation announced in November 2019 the selection of the capital Riyadh to host the 2024 World Cup Show Jumping and Dressage Final, which will be held in the Middle East for the first time.
For his part, His Highness the President of the Equestrian Federation confirmed that the meeting is being held within the framework of joint cooperation and the desire to discuss the best ways and mechanisms for the development of equestrian sports under the supervision of the federation, drawing attention to the preparations for the Spartakiad. The Equestrian Federation in the Kingdom will host Riyadh for the World Cup Final as it is being carried out in accordance with the plan drawn up and outlined by the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation, adopted by noting the great support this sport receives from sound leadership and the follow-up and the attention given by His Highness the Minister for Sports to all programs of the Federation and the provision of opportunities that have greatly contributed to the development of the equestrian sector and enabled the Federation to host important international events in this sport.
