Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the analysis of the data and the presence or absence of a connection between the events in Belarus, southern Russia and St. Petersburg is established by the relevant intelligence services.
This is stated in a press statement by Peskov today, Tuesday, in response to a question about the connection between the closure of airspace over St. Petersburg.
And the authorities of the city of St. Petersburg, in northern Russia, announced this morning the temporary suspension of Pulkovo Airport, the city’s main airport, completely, and the airspace over the city was closed without an official definition of the reason.
For its part, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the conduct of air defense exercises in the western region and coordination with local civilian authorities to intercept and identify an imaginary target, without mentioning whether this was the reason for closing the airspace or not.
Also, sources on the Internet previously published information that as a result of a shootout conducted by unknown persons from the territory of Belarus on February 25, a serviceman of the Tavi regional defense was killed in the Volyn region with a firearm, while the State Border Committee in Belarus denied the information about the shootout, confirming that there were no cases of the use of weapons or opening fire by border guards.
