The Ministry of Sports has decided to withdraw special support from the Al-Ettifak club as part of a public support initiative related to its team’s match against Al-Hilal yesterday, Wednesday, in the amount of one million rials, and a warning to the club for not following the approved regulatory procedures.
Yesterday, the social media pioneers gathered a large crowd at the gates of the Al-Ettifak and Al-Hilal Stadium, which was rescheduled from the 20th round of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Pro Cup on Wednesday.
Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Sports issued a clarification regarding the video footage circulated on social media after receiving a report from the stadium administration.
The Ministry of Sports found that the Al-Ettifak club violated the agreement by violating the ban on distributing free tickets around the stadium on the day of the match, as well as not providing a sufficient number of organizers, and therefore was deprived of financial support and warning.
It is worth noting that the match between Al-Ittifaq and Al-Hilal last Wednesday witnessed chaos at the level of organizational evasion, especially outside the stadium walls, where social media pioneers reported unfortunate scenes of fisticuffs between the organizers themselves, in which some Members fans intervened, trying to separate them, and crowded large fans outside the walls of the stadium.
