Today, at its headquarters in Riyadh, the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen organized a workshop jointly with the United Nations Development Program to strengthen existing cooperation between the two parties, chaired by the Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program in Yemen. The workshop developed an action plan to increase cooperation in quality projects in areas of interest between the two parties.
The workshop reviewed the situation of the fisheries sector in the governorates of Yemen and discussed ways to cooperate in supporting the fisheries sector and other sectors related to food security in Yemen to improve the daily lives and lives of the Yemeni brothers.
The workshop emphasized the importance of cooperation in strengthening Yemeni institutions, building their capacity and coordinating donor efforts in cooperation with the government of Yemen in light of having a proper framework for defining a vision for development in Yemen, led by the government of Yemen.
In the agriculture and fisheries sector, SDRPY presented 18 development projects and initiatives, including seven projects and 11 development initiatives, which included the promotion of the use of modern agricultural technologies and systems, projects to establish fully equipped greenhouses, and projects to provide and distribute fishing boats. with modern engines to improve the speed and quality of production Stimulate sustainable food production and enable brothers working in this sector to contribute to the achievement of self-sufficiency.
This effort is part of the support of the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen, which has implemented 224 development projects and initiatives in various governorates of Yemen, serving Yemeni brothers in seven main sectors, namely: education, health, water, energy, transport , agriculture and fisheries, and capacity building of government institutions to complement development programs.
