Raja Allah Al-Sulami, Assistant Minister of Sports, confirmed that the Extraordinary General Meeting of the Al-Ahly Club did not include a request to remove the confidence of the board of directors of the club, headed by Majid Al-Nafai, indicating that the general meeting would be held in the presence of the board of directors and gold members.
And Raja Allah as-Sulami said in statements on the Al-Arabiya channel: “On July 11, we received a request to dissolve the board of directors of the Al-Ahli Club from one of the members of the General Assembly, and it will be considered in accordance with the requirements of the basic rules clubs.”
He continued: “The Ministry of Sports has no right to dissolve the boards of a club unless it is proven that there is financial or administrative corruption, serious wrongdoing, the resignation of the president, or the size of the board of directors is less than its quorum, and the Al-Ahly General Assembly has elected an incumbent board of directors.”
Al-Salami continued: “In April last year, a request was made to convene an extraordinary general meeting, but it was not completed.”
Al-Salami concluded by saying: “The general meeting of Al-Ahly will be held in the presence of the board of directors and gold members, while the ordinary members, who currently have 1119 members, will attend remotely, and the general meetings of the clubs are those who chooses their boards of directors. On the other hand, the administration of Al-Ahli is going to sign a contract with coach Siboldi, who will lead the team next season.
