The Kremlin Palace said on Tuesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Kherson region in southern Ukraine, adding that Putin visited the headquarters of the Dnipro Armed Forces in Kherson region, where he met with the Russian military stationed there.
According to the Kremlin, Putin also visited Lugansk during his first visit to the region in eastern Ukraine, where he held talks with members of the Russian National Guard stationed there.
The Russian army left the city of Kherson, the center of the region, in November 2022 to gather its forces on the other side of the Dnieper.
It is noteworthy that this is Putin’s first visit to the region since the start of the war between Moscow and Kiev in February last year, but the statement did not indicate the date of the visit.
In March, Putin made an unannounced visit to Crimea, which Russia annexed in 2014, and to Mariupol, which the Russian army besieged for months and occupied in May 2022.
