Russian President Vladimir Putin Announces Destruction of Ukrainian Tanks and Arrival of Heavy Missiles
On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the destruction of 245 Ukrainian tanks and 678 armored vehicles since the beginning of the counteroffensive. Additionally, he announced the arrival of heavy Sarmat missiles into service with the Russian armed forces.
Strengthening the Russian Armed Forces
During a new recruitment of graduates of military universities, the President stressed that the strengthening of the Russian Armed Forces will remain a top priority. Putin referred to the current challenges and experience gained during the Russian special military operation in Ukraine, which will push for the further development of the Russian armed forces.
Development of the Nuclear Triad
Putin highlighted that the main aspect of this process is the development of the nuclear triad, which is a key to ensuring Russia’s national security and global stability. He emphasized that half of the active units now have modern Yaris complexes, as well as Avangard hypersonic missiles.
Heavy Sarmat Missiles
Putin continued, “Heavy (Sarmat) missile systems will go into service.” The arrival of these heavy missiles marks a significant development in Russia’s military capabilities.
The Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov Frigate
Putin also mentioned that “The Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov frigate entered service in January last year, carrying on board the latest guided missile weapons of the Russian Navy’s sea and far oceans, on top of which a modern hypersonic missile (“Zircon”) is installed.”
Overall, Putin’s announcements demonstrate Russia’s continued investment in strengthening its armed forces and maintaining its military capabilities.
