HRH Prince Mohammed bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Jazan Region, received the 2022 Saudi Games torch at the Emirate Headquarters today as part of his promotional tour of the Kingdom’s Olympic sports in the presence of HRH Princess Dalil bint Nahar. bin Saud, Deputy General Manager of Saudi Arabia and Committee members of the Supreme Organizing Committee, Deputy Emirate of the Region Dr. Abdullah Al-Sagher and a number of players.
His Highness appreciated the boundless support of the sports sector by the wise leadership – may God bless him – thanks to which the Kingdom has become the venue for many international sporting events. In order to achieve the vision of the Kingdom of 2030, emphasizing that the Saudi Games 2022 represent an important step towards creating a generation capable of participating in the Olympic Games, and commending the continued efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, Minister of Sports.
The torch set off from the cultural street of the North Corniche in Jizan, passing through Jazan Heritage Village on the South Corniche, to the Emirates Divan, where it took turns carrying the torch to Muhammad Maid, the Kingdom Archery Champion, and Youssef Masrahi, the 400m Athletics Champion meters and Asian and Gulf record holder Al-Arabi, Hanan Al-Amri, Kingdom weightlifting champion, Dr. Khaled Atif, one of those who are interested in sports and Executive Director of the Air Group Association in Jazan of the Saudi Federation and Nayef Jaber Al-Fifi, one of the sons of the martyrs of service in Jazan, in addition to a number of volunteers and volunteers in the region.
The Saudi Arabia Games “Torch” trip aims to bring the message of peace and friendship to citizens and residents in various parts of the Kingdom, and to raise awareness and promote the largest national event in the history of local events and sports in Saudi Arabia, and call on the Saudi Arabian champions to take part in the tournament.
The march will then travel to the Al-Baha region and from there to Al-Ula province, then to the capital Riyadh and from there to Abha, before the torch relay ends on October 10 in the capital Riyadh.
Notably, the capital Riyadh is gearing up to host Saudi Arabia’s biggest sporting event between October 27 and November 7 this year, with more than 6,000 athletes representing over 200 clubs competing in 45 individual and sports teams.
