Yesterday, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) confirmed the choice of Qatar to host the round of 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals of the 2022 AFC Champions League for the Western region with a grouping system.
In the confrontations of the 16th round of the Western region, the current champion of Saudi Arabia Al-Hilal will meet with Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai from the Emirates, Saudi youth with Nasaf from Uzbekistan, Al-Duhail from Qatar with his compatriot Al-Rayyan and Al-Faysali from Saudi Arabia with Foolad Khuzestan from Iran.
The AFC has previously announced the dates for the knockout matches, with the Round of 16 matches taking place on February 19 and 20, 2023, the quarter-finals on February 23, and the semi-finals on February 26.
Notably, the first leg of the final round will take place on April 29, 2023 at the home of the team that qualified from the West Region, with the second leg on May 6, 2023 at Saitama, Japan (the home of Japanese club Urawa Red Diamonds, which qualified from Eastern region).
