A New Music Group “Paranoia” Emerges Following the Success of K/DA
A Big Hit on YouTube: Heartsteel Reaches 10 Million Views in Just 48 Hours
Heartsteel, the latest track by Paranoia, a music group formed by Riot Games, has already garnered over 10 million views on YouTube within just 48 hours. This tremendous success showcases the popularity of the game and the newly formed music group, Paranoia. Composed solely of male members, Paranoia aims to promote the upcoming 2023 Lol World Championships. Each member of the group represents a well-known champion from the game, including Ezreal, Kayn, Aphelios, Yone, K’Sante, and Sett. In a press release, Riot Games explains that the group draws inspiration from various music collectives and genres, resulting in a distinct and innovative musical identity.
The Collaboration and Artists in Heartsteel
The music video for Heartsteel features collaborations with several artists, such as Baekhyun from the K-Pop group Exo, American rapper Cal Scruby, American-Taiwanese rapper and singer-songwriter ØZI, and Nigerian artist and rapper Tobi Lou. Each artist represents a member of the game, taking on the roles of Ezreal, Kayn, Sett, and K’Sante. The identities of the remaining two team members are yet to be revealed.
A New Group Following the Enormous Success of K/DA
Paranoia is Riot Games’ latest creation, following the global success of K/DA and their anthem “POP/STARS,” which became the theme song of the League of Legends World Championships in 2019. The music video for “POP/STARS” has accumulated over 570 million views on YouTube since its release four years ago. Similar to Paranoia, K/DA consists of artists from various musical genres. However, K/DA is a female-only group featuring Madison Beer, Jaira Burns, Miyeon, Soyeon from the Korean girl group (G)I-DLE, and Mea Miller. Each artist in K/DA represents a specific character from the game, including Evelynn, Kai’Sa, Ahri, Akali, and Séraphine. Riot Games continues to create music each year to become the anthem of the Worlds, with the previous season featuring “Star Walkin\’” by Lil Nas X.
