Pakistani Finance Minister Muftah Ismail has estimated property damage from the current heavy rains and floods in Pakistan since mid-June at around $10 billion across industries.
In a statement released today by Pakistani media, Ismail said the damage was estimated at a preliminary estimate and could increase after field surveys.
He added that he did not currently have details on the losses suffered by various sectors of the economy, pointing out that the current floods are the worst in the history of the country, as rainwater flooded about a third of the country’s territory and negatively affected the overall activity in the country, especially the economy. .
