Pakistan welcomed the decision of the International Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering to remove it from the greylist.
In a statement today, Pakistani Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hannah Rabbani Kar said, “This development reflects the international community’s confidence in Pakistan’s commitment to its international obligations.
She added that this decision is the success of the Pakistani government’s efforts to fulfill all the conditions imposed by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) on Pakistan to remove it from the anti-terrorist financing and money laundering gray list.
The group placed Pakistan on a gray list in mid-2018 and asked it to tighten financial oversight.
