English club Tottenham Hotspur announced on Friday the signing of Everton striker Richarlison. According to press reports, the deal is valued at 58 million euros, excluding bonuses.
Spurs tweeted: “We are delighted to announce the signing of Richarlison from Everton pending a work permit.”
The 25-year-old has signed a contract until the end of the 2027 season, Tottenham said in a statement on their website.
Richarlison could become the most expensive player in Tottenham’s history if all the bonuses included in the deal are paid out.
Richarlison joined Everton from Watford in 2018 for $50 million.
The Samba Dancer scored 53 goals in 152 games for the Toffees, including 6 goals in the last nine games of last season, to contribute to the Merseyside club’s survival in the Premier League.
A move to Tottenham will satisfy Richarlison’s Champions League ambitions, but he will have to face serious competition to establish himself and play regularly in the presence of attacking duo Harry Kane and South Korean Son Heung-min.
Spurs, under Italian coach Antonio Conte, signed Croatian striker Ivan Perisic from Inter, goalkeeper Freis Forster from Southampton and financial midfielder Yves Bisumu from Brighton on a free transfer.
