Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa has said his country will be a surprise at the World Cup in Qatar.
Ochoa explained to the media that the role we have to play is the same as in all World Cup tournaments.
“We are a team that has always faced difficult draws and groups and we were able to overcome them,” he added.
On Tuesday, Mexico hosted an open day for the media in Los Angeles, USA, ahead of two friendlies in California, where they will face Peru in Pasadena on Saturday and will play Colombia three days later in Santa Clara. .
“Now Mexico should come as a surprise, we are not the favorites to win either in our group or in the tournament,” said the Granada goalkeeper. So we have to be honest and say that Mexico has to surprise.”
“To take the next step, we have to play the perfect match at the right time,” said the goalkeeper.
The World Cup in Qatar is in Group C, which includes Saudi Arabia, Argentina and Poland.
