Brazilian Neymar came out on a stretcher after his Paris Saint-Germain team’s match against Lille, which is currently taking place in the French football league. But with Saint-Germain leading 2-1, Neymar was forced off shortly after the start of the second half after colliding with Benjamin André as the player apparently injured his right ankle.
Eventually, Neymar, 31, could no longer walk and it was clear he was in distress as he was wheeled off the pitch. Neymar’s injury could be a painful blow to Saint-Germain’s Champions League hopes as the team lost the first leg of the round of 16 to Bayern Munich by a clean sheet.
With less than 3 weeks left until the second leg on March 8, Christophe Galtier, coach of the team that lost Nuno Mendes to an injury in the first half, hopes that Neymar’s injury will not be serious.
