Proposed emoji on Emojipedia
The emoji now listed on Emojipedia have been suggested and are currently being considered. Despite this, many proposed emoji at this stage are accepted for inclusion in official emoji releases. Emojipedia has made sample designs for the proposed emoji; however, these are different from the versions used on iPhones, iPads, and Macs.
New directional emoji
There are now 108 new directional emoji, the majority of which are depictions of individuals with a variety of skin tones for the emoji that represent them. In addition to the existing emoji for a person walking, a person jogging, a person kneeling, a person with a white cane, a person in a manual wheelchair, and a person in a motorized wheelchair, the new emoji include orientation directions such as left and right.
Timeline for inclusion of new emoji
September 2023 is the target month for completing the Emoji 15.1 character set. After that, Apple, Google, and other electronic device manufacturers will include them in subsequent software updates. Since it often takes Apple many months to introduce new emoji, even though these are scheduled to be authorized in September, Apple won’t add them to its devices until 2024, even though the approval is scheduled for that month. The final emoji to be added to iOS was introduced in February 2023 with version 16.4 of the operating system.
It’s Possible That the Shaking Head, Brown Mushroom, Phoenix, Lime, and Other Characters Will Be Added to the Emoji Standard in 2024 .
