RT correspondent reported on Monday evening that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and extremist National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir have agreed to freeze judicial amendments until the end of next July.
She added that Netanyahu and Ben-Gvir concluded their meeting in the Knesset and agreed to try to pass judicial amendments in July, that is, in the second session of the Knesset, having previously agreed on them.
Army radio reported that Ben-Gvir gave Netanyahu the green light to stay the court decision in exchange for the creation of the National Guard.
She added that Netanyahu and Ben-Gvir signed an agreement that the government would decide within a week on the establishment of the National Guard under the control of the Ministry of National Security.
The events come after Israeli President Isaac Herzog called on a government coalition to stop a judicial reform law after a stormy night of protests punctuated by riots and clashes between police and demonstrators.
On Monday morning, Netanyahu ended hours of consultations to assess the political situation after the dismissal of Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
Thousands of Israelis demonstrated in dozens of places across the country on Sunday night to Monday to protest against a bill to reform the judiciary.
