A meeting of the committee to develop a vision for the revitalization of the work of the Council of Ministers of the Interior of Arab countries in the field of cyber security and the fight against cybercrime began today, organized by the Arab Directorate for Combating Extremism and Terrorism and hosted by the Naif Arab Security University. For his part, His Excellency President of the Arab University of Security Sciences. Naifa Dr. Abdul Majid bin Abdullah Al Bunyan emphasized the importance of cooperation between the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers of the Interior of Arab Countries and the university, emphasizing that the university pays great attention to the field of cybercrime, digital evidence and the field of cybersecurity in general, noting that the university is preparing of its strategic plan in 2018 reached out to the competent authorities and beneficiaries of the university’s work program to learn about the most important topics, challenges and risks that they believed the Arab security services faced, and cybercrime was at the top of the list of these risks.Global are the risks associated with cybersecurity and cybercrime.

The meeting reviewed the efforts of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers of the Interior of the Arab countries and the Arab University of Security Sciences. It is noteworthy that the Council of Arab Ministers of the Interior at its 35th session formed a group of experts to combat cybercrime, given the nature of cybercrime and its many dimensions, developed a practical framework to counter it and adopted a number of measures, including the adoption of the Arab Strategy to Combat Crime in Information Technology at its thirty-seventh session on 1/3/2020 AD, as well as the adoption of an executive plan for a three-year period to translate this strategy into practical programs.
