Nacon is about to unveil more of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum after remaining silent for most of the past year. The publisher will show the game on March 9 during its subsequent Nacon Direct event.
Gollum, first announced in 2019, has experienced numerous delays. The newest will be available in July 2022.
The studio stated at the time of the most recent postponement, “We are committed to meeting our community’s expectations and unveiling the undiscovered story of Gollum in a way that follows the vision of J.R.R. Tolkien.
In the “story-driven action-adventure” game Gollum, the player assumes control of the title character. The game’s plot parallels the events in The Fellowship of the Ring.
The publisher notes that significant details of Gollum’s quest have yet to be revealed, despite being crucial to J.R.R. Tolkien’s plot. “You encounter this tale in The Lord of the Rings: GollumTM. Between his time spent with the Elves of Mirkwood and as an enslaved person below the Dark Tower.
Utilize stealth, agility, and cunning to survive and get through the obstacles in your way. Jump, climb, and grapple your way around obstacles or to advantageous positions.
The launch of Gollum is anticipated to occur between April and September 2023. There has yet to be any indication of whether the game’s release platforms have changed. It was formerly anticipated for both last- and current-gen consoles in 2021.
Nacon will also present a fresh take on RoboCop: Rogue City in addition to Gollum.
