Russia’s representative to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, said that Moscow calls on the International Atomic Energy Agency to be vigilant about information about Kiev’s storage of weapons at nuclear power plants.
Ulyanov said in an interview with TASS: “Naturally, we are still in contact with the leadership of the secretariat of the International Atomic Energy Agency on this issue and urge them to be vigilant. Especially since the agency, after recently deploying its employees at all nuclear power plants in Ukraine, has the capacity for effective follow-up.
On January 23, the press service of Russian intelligence reported that the Ukrainian armed forces were storing ammunition provided by Western countries, including Himars missiles, at nuclear power plants.
The department indicated that the Ukrainian side is betting that Russian forces, understanding the seriousness of a nuclear catastrophe, will not strike at the territory of the nuclear power plant. For his part, Secretary General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Grossi said on January 24 that his agency’s inspectors had not found any military equipment at Ukrainian nuclear power plants.
