Yesterday, the fourth meeting of the Afghan consultations, known as the Moscow Formula, began in Moscow. Zamir Kabulov, Special Representative of the President of Russia in Afghanistan, stated this in his opening speech: Representatives of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates were invited to the Moscow coordination meeting on Afghanistan.
Kabulov noted that “the economic problems of Afghanistan need a comprehensive solution, and the main responsibility for this lies with those who not only brought the country to its current deplorable state in 20 years, but also senselessly interfered in its economic ties, seizing the frozen national assets of Afghanistan” .
He added: “The main responsibility lies with the West, which not only brought Afghanistan to its miserable state 20 years ago, but shamelessly continues its economic strangulation by seizing the country’s gold reserves.
The Moscow formula for Afghanistan was created in April 2017 and brings together 11 countries interested in the stability of Afghanistan, namely Russia, Afghanistan, China, Pakistan, Iran, India, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
Kabulov conveyed the concerns of the Russian side about the activities of ISIS (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) in the northern regions of Afghanistan.
