The State Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Monshaat), represented by Thakaa Center, in strategic partnership and official sponsorship with the Ministry of Sports, launched the challenge of applying artificial intelligence in sports; With the aim of enabling entrepreneurs to develop development solutions and provide products based on artificial intelligence and data processing technologies in areas that benefit most from these technologies, and encourage national talents to innovate. Monshaat explained that the test schedule included two phases; The first is online, and the second is through participation in the hackathon, where requests for decisions will be accepted until August 21, 2022 at the link: https://www.thakaa.sa/challenges/sports-challenge With this, the announcement of the nominated teams will be on August 24th and the hackathon phase will start with mentors from August 25th to September 8th, and the winners will be announced on September 10th, 2022 AD, and the strategic partner of the challenge will provide the Saudi Authority with data and artificial intelligence “SDAYA” many call support services.
The task includes 8 tracks; Where the sports training track aims to provide computer vision and virtual reality solutions to improve the performance of athletes and assess sports situations in training, and the sports analytics track aims to help sports analysts predict match results, and the healthcare track aims to To provide solutions and technical tools that use artificial intelligence to collect player health data.
The challenge also includes a broadcast and media coverage track that is based on deep learning technology to create a fully automated sports montage, and the community sports track aims to provide technical solutions that enable and encourage the community to play sports while as an open track aims to participate in decisions through artificial intelligence to improve the sports sector and its stakeholders. As for the stadium experience track, it aims to use virtual reality and augmented reality to improve the audience experience.
The challenge includes a number of side events presented in the form of intensive consultations by Thakaa Center experts and partners in the field of entrepreneurship and artificial intelligence, in addition to dialogue sessions and various seminars on entrepreneurship and data analysis.
The winners of the first five places will receive financial prizes totaling 900,000 rials, where the prize value for first place is 350,000 rials, second place is 250,000 rials, and third place is 150 rials.
One thousand rials, fourth place 100,000 rials and fifth place 50,000 rials.
