Microsoft has released updated Bing, Skype, and Edge applications for the iPhone and iPad, all of which use the conversation-based AI-powered search features that the firm first demonstrated in February.
The updated Bing mobile app features a fresh look and improved chat functionality. Users can ask the Bing chatbot various queries by tapping the Bing symbol at the bottom of the app, which launches a conversation session. Responses may be presented as text, bullet points, or streamlined responses.
Bing’s mobile app, like its desktop counterpart, supports complicated searches that might be useful for tasks like making a travel schedule or shopping for a television. Microsoft allows customers to focus their searches by requesting more information, clarity, and suggestions. Additionally, Bing can create jobs like email writing, poem creation, trivia night quiz creation, job interview preparation, and more.
Further to offering voice-based search functionality, the Bing app may be accessed from the Microsoft Edge mobile app’s home page.
Microsoft is redesigning the iOS version of the Skype app to include AI-powered Bing search and AI enhancements for the Bing and Microsoft Edge apps. Microsoft said integrating Bing will bring “useful and enjoyable new scenarios and possibilities.”
For instance, a group of Skype users can add Bing to their group and use it to answer queries and share information with the whole group, which is helpful for organizing travel. Bing can deliver information from the web, with text displayed in various ways, when checking up with friends.
For users of the Bing preview experience, updated versions of the Bing, Skype, and Microsoft Edge apps are currently available globally in preview mode. Microsoft warns that there may be bandwidth issues for a few days, but a patch is being developed.
A queue is available, and Microsoft is still providing Bing preview access “as quickly as possible.”
