The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Yemen, who oversees the Saudi program for the development and reconstruction of Yemen, Muhammad bin Saeed Al Jaber met today in Riyadh with Kansuke Nagaoka, Assistant Minister and Director General of the Department of the Middle East and Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
During the meeting, they underscored the support of the Presidential Leadership Council, led by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi.
They also discussed joint efforts to ensure the success of the UN-sponsored truce to achieve a permanent and comprehensive ceasefire in Yemen and start a political process, highlighting the importance of the Houthis reopening the Taiz checkpoints as soon as possible and depositing the proceeds with the Central Bank of Yemen to pay civilian wages. .
Nagaoka reaffirmed Japan’s position and solidarity with the Kingdom, while praising the Kingdom’s efforts in Yemen and the great support, most recently the announcement of a $3 billion allocation by the Kingdom and the UAE to support the economy of Yemen.
