His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, Speaker of the Shura Council, during his current visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Algeria, met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs and National Community Affairs Abroad, Mr. Ahmed Ataf. During the meeting, His Excellency praised the great development in Algeria, pointing out the importance of continuing and intensifying bilateral meetings, especially parliamentary cooperation between the Shura Council and the Algerian Parliament in both chambers.
For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria welcomed the Speaker of the Shura Council and the delegation accompanying him, expressing his desire to strengthen relations and cooperation between the two fraternal countries, emphasizing the existence of many opportunities for intensifying joint work between them in many areas, explaining that parliamentary relations between the Council The Shuras and the National and People’s Assembly are very important and will contribute to raising bilateral relations between the two fraternal countries to a wider level.
During the meeting, they considered several issues of mutual interest between the two fraternal countries, and ways to develop and strengthen relations between them.
The discussion session was attended by an official delegation, accompanied by the Speaker of the Shura Council, members of the Council: Dr. Hassan bin Hijab Al-Khazmi, Dr. Faisal bin Ali Tomaihi, Muhammad bin Saad Al-Faraj, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques of Algiers, Dr. r Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Busayri and a number of Shura Council officials.
His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, Speaker of the Shura Council, also met with President of the Constitutional Court Omar Belhaj during his visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Algeria.
During the meeting, His Excellency presented an overview of the mechanism of the Shura Council since its inception, its development and the role it plays in the legislative and oversight areas, as well as in matters related to parliamentary diplomacy.
The President of the Algerian Constitutional Court welcomed the Speaker of the Shura Council and the delegation accompanying him and gave a detailed explanation of the mechanism of the court’s work, emphasizing the importance of increasing cooperation between the two fraternal countries in all areas, especially with regard to judicial and parliamentary aspects and the exchange of experience.
During the meeting, a number of common issues between the two countries were considered.
