During the third week of May 2023, the King Salman Center for Humanitarian Aid and Assistance “Masam” project to clear Yemeni lands managed to remove 1,085 mines laid by the Houthi militia in various regions of Yemen, including 20 anti-personnel mines, 159 anti-tank mines and 901 mines , unexploded ordnance and 5 explosive devices. Group<Масам>> cleared 105 anti-tank mines and 607 unexploded ordnance in Aden Governorate. In Marib governorate, the team cleared two explosive device projectiles in the Al Wadi area, as well as cleared one anti-personnel mine and 3 anti-tank mines in the Harib area and one anti-personnel mine in the Raghwan area, and cleared two anti-personnel mines, 10 anti-tank mines and 11 unexploded ordnance in the Heys district of Al Hodeidah governorate, explosives and 3 explosive devices.
In Taiz Governorate, the team cleared 7 anti-personnel mines and 7 UXO in Al-Kharikiyah Agency, 25 anti-tank mines and 249 UXO in Al-Mokha Agency, 6 anti-tank mines and 3 UXO in Mawza Agency, and cleared 2 anti-personnel mines. And 3 unexploded ordnance in the Sabr area, as well as 5 anti-personnel mines, 6 anti-tank mines and 12 unexploded ordnance were removed in the Dhubab area, bringing the number of mines cleared in the month of May to 3,114, bringing the number of mines removed from the beginning the Masam project, to 399,000. And 195 mines were haphazardly planted by Houthi militias across Yemen to increase the number of innocent victims among children, women and the elderly.
The Kingdom, represented by its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Relief Center, continues to clear Yemeni lands of mines as part of the project and is doing its part to help Yemeni brothers lead a decent life.
