Senegalese striker Sadio Mane sent a message to the fans of his football club Liverpool and his German coach Jurgen Klopp after losing the Champions League about his imminent departure from the Reds.
The 30-year-old Mane’s contract with Liverpool expires in the summer of 2023, and the parties have not yet reached an agreement on an extension.
Mane said in comments on English site Football London after losing the Champions League final against Real Madrid: “We are disappointed. It was a deceptive match. I would like to thank the fans, who, as always, were wonderful. .”
“I want to thank them for everything, thank coach Klopp and wish them the best of luck around the world.”
Mane’s message looked like a farewell to Liverpool and his manager, especially in light of the reports leading up to the meeting with Real Madrid about his approach to Bayern Munich to add to the grief of the Reds fans.
Some sources claimed that the value of the deal would be €30 million, on top of variables, and that the Senegalese striker was waiting for a final that would decide his future.
“Sadio Mane has decided to leave Liverpool this summer,” Fabrizio Romano, an expert on player and coach transfers in Europe, tweeted.
He added: “Mane is ready for a new experience after many great years with the Reds. Mane will convey his wish to Liverpool officials and Bayern Munich are strong competitors for a deal, but nothing has been decided yet.”
