The second leg between the two teams will take place at La Ceramica next Tuesday.
Notably, the winner of this match will face the winner of the match between Real Madrid and Manchester City next Wednesday.
Villarreal reached the semi-finals of the European Championship for the first time in 16 years, knocking out the Italian Juventus and Bayern Munich. As for Liverpool, they booked their spot in the semi-finals after beating Benfica 3-1 in the first leg and drawing 3-3 in the second leg.
