Nazirland is a career diplomat with the rank of Secretary of the US State Department, born in Morocco and serving as US Ambassador to Libya, Georgia and Uzbekistan, and Deputy Chief of Mission to Afghanistan and Latvia. He was also a foreign policy adviser to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; International Affairs Advisor and Deputy Commandant of the National War College and Director of European Affairs of the National Security Council; and Senior Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy at Georgetown University.
