Polish striker for Bayern Munich Robert Lewandowski did not talk about his future at the Bayern club, saying that after his team won the German championship for the tenth time in a row, “something is about to happen.”
And there have been reports of Barcelona’s desire to use the services of the 33-year-old Lewandowski, who confirmed that a decision on his fate could be made soon, saying after the match that his team won against Borussia Dortmund 3-1 and crowned local title, something will happen soon The only thing I know is that it will be a meeting (against Bayern) so I don’t know what might happen. As I said before, the club did not discuss my contract or my future with me.”
“We’ll see how things develop,” he added, noting that his agent was in talks with Bayern Munich.
Considered one of the world’s top scorers in recent years, Lewandowski has scored 342 goals in 372 games for the Bayern side since joining him on a free contract from Dortmund in 2014.
Bayern Munich CEO and former goalkeeper Oliver Kahn confirmed that his club wants to keep Lewandowski, but at the same time admitted that the Polish star is “thinking about his future”, meaning his club “needs time to convince him to stay.”
Lewandowski’s contract with Bayern Munich expires on June 30, 2023, and the club don’t want to lose him for free if he refuses to renew the contract.
