Latvian President Igel Levits told reporters today that his country is preparing to receive employees of the Ukrainian Embassy in Moscow at the request of the Ukrainian authorities.
“Latvia, taking into account Ukraine’s decision to cut off relations with Russia, is preparing to receive, at Ukraine’s request, the staff of the Ukrainian embassy in Moscow,” Levits said.
On Thursday morning, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation in Ukraine, stressing that the operation was not aimed at invading Ukraine, but at disarming it and protecting the civilian population in Donbas.
