Liverpool announced on Thursday that manager Jurgen Klopp has extended his contract for another two years to stay at Anfield until 2026.
Klopp, whose previous contract expired in 2024, has helped Liverpool win the Champions League and Premier League since joining the club in 2015.
“The vitality of the team pushed me to expand,” the German coach said in a statement. “There are so many words that I can use to describe what I feel right now. Happiness, humility, gratitude, superiority and enthusiasm are many feelings.”
British reports indicated that Klopp received an undisclosed pay raise.
And Klopp earns £16m a year, or around £330,000 a week, which is the highest weekly salary in Liverpool.
The signing of Klopp comes at an important moment in the season as the team compete on three fronts: the English Premier League, the European Champions League and the FA Cup.
In 2019, Klopp extended his contract until 2024 with a salary increase of more than 50 percent, months after winning the Champions League.
