The Saudi Arabia and Solomon Islands Ministers of Foreign Affairs Issue Joint Statement
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Solomon Islands issued a statement at the end of the visit of the Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands to the Kingdom. The visit took place from November 16-21, 1444 AH, corresponding to June 5-10, 2023 AD. During the visit, the two sides held a session of negotiations and discussed various topics, including:
Friendship Relations and Development
The delegation of the Solomon Islands and a number of Their Highnesses and Excellencies Ministers considered the friendship relations between the two countries and the ways of their development in all areas, especially in the sectors of energy, tourism, investment, health, and education.
Exchange of Views on International Developments
During the negotiations, the two sides exchanged views on developments in the international arena and a number of issues of common interest, including climate change.
Meetings and Seminars with Private Sector Leaders
During the visit, a number of meetings and seminars were held with leaders and representatives of the private sector. Both sides emphasized the key role of the private sector in increasing the pace of economic cooperation between the two countries. They also discussed ways to intensify mutual visits, hold investment forums, and encourage entrepreneurs from both sides to take advantage of the investment opportunities available in the two countries.
Strengthening Coordination at International Forums
The parties expressed their desire to strengthen coordination among themselves at international forums and organizations on issues and problems of interest to the two countries.
