The King Salman Relief and Humanitarian Aid Center Implements Water Supply and Sanitation Project
The King Salman Relief and Humanitarian Aid Center has made significant progress in implementing the environmental water supply and sanitation project. This project aims to provide clean and usable water to communities in various districts of Hajja Governorate and Saada Governorate in Yemen.
Water Pumping and Waste Removal
As part of the project, 1,000 liters of useful water were pumped out in the Midi, Harad, Hiran, and Abs districts of Hajja Governorate. This ensures that communities have access to clean water, essential for their daily needs.
In addition, the center carried out 189 transfers to remove waste from camps for internally displaced persons. This waste removal is crucial for maintaining hygienic living conditions and preventing the spread of diseases.
Hygiene Kits and Water Containers Distribution
The King Salman Relief and Humanitarian Aid Center also distributed 1,951 hygiene kits to communities in the targeted districts. These kits include essential items such as soap, toothpaste, and sanitary products, promoting proper hygiene practices.
Furthermore, 3,951 containers with water were distributed, ensuring that individuals have a means to store and transport clean water to their households.
Impact in Saada Governorate
In the Razih district of Saada Governorate, the center distributed 300,000 liters of drinking water and an additional 300,000 liters of usable water. This significant supply of water benefits the local population, addressing their immediate need for safe drinking water.
Moreover, 199 hygiene kits and 398 water containers were distributed in Saada Governorate, directly benefiting 30,100 individuals. These distributions contribute to improved sanitation practices and access to clean water for the people in need.
The efforts of the King Salman Relief and Humanitarian Aid Center in implementing the environmental water supply and sanitation project have made a positive impact on the communities in Hajja Governorate and Saada Governorate. By providing clean water, removing waste, and distributing hygiene kits, the center is improving living conditions and promoting better health and hygiene practices.
