Kim Jong Un Vows to Strengthen Relations with China
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un recently held a meeting with a Chinese delegation that visited Pyongyang to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of the Korean War. During the meeting, Kim expressed his commitment to taking the relations between the two countries to new heights, according to state media reports.
On Friday, Kim hosted a reception for the Chinese officials led by Li Hongzhong, a member of the Communist Party Politburo. Notably, this delegation marked the first visit from China since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The North Korean KCNA news agency stated, “Both parties and governments of North Korea and China reaffirmed their determination to navigate the complex international landscape independently and steadily enhance their friendship and cooperative ties to a new level.”
