Kena Governor Confirms Control of Fire in Gas Station
Inspection by Governor and Chief of Security
Kena Governor Ashraf al-Daudi confirmed control of a fire inside a gas station on the Egypt/Aswan road in Al Ma\’an area. This happened during an inspection by the Governor and Chief of Security, Major General Ihab Taha, the site of a fire that occurred in one of the vehicles carrying oil products loaded with 20 tons of gasoline, causing the fire to spread to a gas station on the Egypt-Aswan road in El-Ma\’ana District.
Immediate Response to Fire
The governor confirmed that as soon as the fire was reported to the operational headquarters of the governorate, 6 fire engines were sent to extinguish the fire, and 10 ambulances, as well as two ambulances, were sent in anticipation of injuries or cases of suffocation. No Fatalities Reported
He pointed out that the Kena Road Authority closed the road in front of the station and opened alternative roads, adding that the fire did not cause any deaths, but only injuries to the driver of the vehicle carrying the fuel and a worker at a gas station.
Civil Defense Personnel Put Out Fire
Al-Daudi added that civil defense personnel managed to put out the fire inside the gas station and the nearby cafeteria, as well as put out the burning car, thanking the civil protection forces for their heroic role in extinguishing the fire, stressing that civil defenders always bring the greatest examples and sacrifices to protect citizens and serve the country.
Review of Safety Procedures
The governor stressed that officials must quickly review safety procedures at all gas stations at the provincial level. To reduce the recurrence of such fires and protect citizens from exposure to any potential hazards, he instructed Social Solidarity officials to conduct a comprehensive inventory of all losses.
