A Turkish source said yesterday that Hungarian President Katalin Novak intends to visit Ankara next Wednesday and that she will meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The source added: Erdogan and Katalin may discuss Finnish and Swedish NATO membership, given the readiness of the Turkish and Hungarian parliaments to ratify Finland’s membership in the alliance – Hungarian Civil Union – she previously served as Minister for Family Affairs in the fourth Orbán government from 2020 to 2021. Nowak is the first woman to hold the presidency in Hungary, as well as the youngest president in the history of Hungary, born in 1977 in Szeged.
