Jon Hamm to Voice Detective Marvin Flute in Animated Comedy “Grimsburg”
It looks like Jon Hamm is really into his detective jobs. The star of “Mad Men” will play a detective again in the upcoming animated comedy “Grimsburg.” He will voice the part of expert detective Marvin Flute. The show, which Catlan McClelland and Matthew Schlissel created, is about Marvin, who is the best detective ever in the made-up town of Grimsburg but has trouble finding out who his family is. Hamm has played detectives and government agents in movies before, like Confess (2022), Fletch (2023), and Maggie Moore(s) (2023). But his part in Grimsburg is one of the rarest ones on TV.
FOX Orders Animated Comedy “Grimsburg” for Prime Time
FOX is the only major American television network that shows animated shows during prime time. In October 2021, they ordered Grimsburg as a straight-to-series show, and in October 2022, they announced that the show would be back for a second season. Michael Thorn of FOX said, “Everything we’re seeing with Grimsburg – from the very first scripts and show bible to animatics and preliminary cuts – makes us believe we have a winner on our hands that beautifully complements our animation brand.” This suggests that the show could be as popular as the network’s other sitcoms. Still, Grimsburg isn’t the only new show they’re really excited about. Another new FOX sitcom, Krapopolis, which is created by Dan Harmon (Rick and Morty), has been renewed before it even starts airing. Both comedies were supposed to start airing in the 2022–23 season, but they were pushed back. They will now be part of the network’s popular Animation Domination block, which already has The Simpsons, Family Guy, Bob’s Burgers, The Great North, and Housebroken. Use the guide below to learn about the show’s story, cast, characters, and everything else we know about it so far.

What is the Release Date of Grimsburg?
We thought that Grimsburg would start airing sometime in 2023 as part of FOX’s Animation Domination block, but we now know that it won’t come out until next year. The first episode of Grimsburg is set to air on Sunday, January 7, 2024. Because of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, which shook up the movie and TV industries, the network had to make big changes to its plans for Fall 2023, which probably caused this delay. The network hasn’t said anything new about how many episodes Grimsburg will have yet, but we can guess that it will have anywhere from 10 to 20. Keep checking back for the most recent news about when Grimsburg will be out.
Is There a ‘Grimsburg’ Trailer?
We don’t have a video for Grimsburg yet, but one will likely come out closer to the movie’s release date.
Where can I watch Grimsburg?
Because Grimsburg is a FOX original show, it will only be shown on FOX on Sundays during prime time. Plus, you can watch the shows whenever you want on FOX’s website. But if you want to watch without a cable box, the show might someday come to Disney+ or Hulu, where you can already watch hit sitcoms like The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Bob’s Burgers. This streaming release hasn’t been confirmed yet, so keep an eye on this story for more information.
What Is the Plot of Grimsburg?
Here’s the sitcom’s official logline by FOX:
In GRIMSBURG, Marvin Flute may be the greatest detective ever to catch a cannibal clown or correctly identify a mid-century modern armoire. But there’s one mystery he still can’t crack — his family. Now that he’s back in Grimsburg, a town where everyone has a secret or three, Flute will follow every lead he’s got to redeem himself with the ex-wife he never stopped loving, even if it means hanging out with the son he never bothered to get to know.
