Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger suggested that Japan could develop weapons of mass destruction in the coming years.
The veteran US diplomat, who is celebrating his 100th birthday on Saturday, told the Wall Street Journal that it could take Japan “three, five or seven years” to develop the weapon.
Speaking of Asia, Kissinger pointed out that China seeks security, not global hegemony, although, in his opinion, it seeks to be a superpower in the region.
He added that Beijing may be in a strong position, so India and Japan will have to take this into account.
