The Organization of Islamic Cooperation condemned the provocative acts of burning copies of the Holy Quran during anti-Muslim demonstrations in Linköping, Norrköping and other cities in Sweden.
HE Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Hussein Ibrahim Taha said that the gatherings organized by the Danish far-right Strahm-Korse party have exacerbated concerns in the Islamic world about the rising tide of Islamophobia fueled by supporters of the far right.
His Excellency explained that this incident is a clear indication of the racist and xenophobic thinking of his perpetrators and that their actions are contrary to all accepted norms and values in a civilized society, while stressing his conviction that this provocative act does not reflect the point of view of the majority of citizens Sweden and Europe.
