The Nineveh Police Command has announced the destruction of all remnants of the war left by members of the terrorist organization ISIS during their control of the province in northern Iraq. The Commander of the Nineveh Police, Major General Laith Al-Hamdani, said in a statement to the Nineveh Police Command, they were the first to contribute to the elimination of these remnants of war, as far as they could. In cooperation with support forces, they removed and raised about 7,000 rockets and explosive devices in the areas of the Nineveh Plain, which were distributed among the districts of Hamdaniya, Tal-Kaif, the districts of Bashik, Bartella, Al-Kosh, Karakosh and some villages in northern Iraq.
Notably, the liberation of Nineveh from ISIS control was announced in 2017.
