Iranian MP opposes installation of surveillance cameras at nuclear facilities
Iranian MP Mahmoud Nabavian said allowing the Atomic Energy Agency to install 10 out of 27 surveillance cameras at Isfahan’s nuclear facilities is contrary to the Law on Strategic Measures to Lift Sanctions.
The MP said that the law on strategic measures to abolish fines was adopted by Parliament.
Iranian Atomic Energy Organization spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi announced a voluntary agreement with the agency to activate and reinstall 10 cameras at facilities in Isfahan.
The organization denied the presence of surveillance cameras to record nuclear activity at the enrichment plant in Natanz as part of an agreement concluded between Tehran and the International Atomic Energy Agency.
And that statement said: “While Behruz Kamalvandi was talking about Iran’s voluntary agreement with the agency to activate 10 cameras at facilities in Isfahan, a number of news agencies were talking about activating cameras in Natanz.”
The organization added that Kamalvandi spoke about the installation of cameras in Isfahan, but only in one part of the interview, where instead of the Isfahan facilities, Natanz was inadvertently mentioned, and some media also mistakenly reported the installation of cameras at the site in Natanz.
