Tinder Introduces New Feature: Tinder Matchmaker
Experience a revolution in the world of dating apps with Tinder’s latest addition: Tinder Matchmaker. This innovative feature allows users to invite their friends, even those who aren’t on Tinder, to suggest potential matches. Inspired by user data, Tinder Matchmaker aims to help people discover who their friends and family believe would make a great match for them.
The Concept Behind Tinder Matchmaker
Did you know that over 75% of singles discuss their dating life with friends multiple times per month? It’s true! A survey commissioned by Tinder revealed this interesting fact, and it serves as the inspiration behind the creation of Tinder Matchmaker. This feature allows friends to get involved in the matchmaking process without taking full control of the swiping experience, emulating real-life interactions. Ultimately, individuals retain the final say in deciding whether to pursue a match or send a Like.
How to Use Tinder Matchmaker
To start a session with Tinder Matchmaker, simply access a profile card or go to the app settings. After initiating the session, you’ll receive a unique link that can be shared with up to 15 friends within a 24-hour period. Friends who follow the link will either need to log into Tinder or proceed as a guest after completing an age verification prompt and agreeing to the terms. During the session, friends can recommend profiles for you to review once the session ends.
Excitement Surrounding the Launch
Melissa Hobley, the Chief Marketing Officer at Tinder, expressed enthusiasm about the launch of Tinder Matchmaker. She believes that this new feature brings your circle of trust into your dating journey and helps you discover potential matches from the perspective of those closest to you.
Partnership with Coi Leray
In order to promote the new feature, Tinder has teamed up with Coi Leray, the singer of “Players.” In an upcoming video, Coi Leray will demonstrate how the “friend test” feature of Tinder Matchmaker works.
Addressing the Changing Dating Landscape
Tinder Matchmaker arrives at a time when younger users, especially those in Generation Z, are growing weary of swiping-based dating apps like Tinder. Instead, they’re turning towards friend-finding apps and traditional social media platforms such as Instagram to establish romantic connections. Moreover, startups are exploring video-based approaches or utilizing AI to enhance the dating experience.
Availability of Tinder Matchmaker
Tinder Matchmaker is launching today in select countries including the United States, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom, and Vietnam. The feature will be gradually rolled out globally to Tinder users in the coming months.
