The Saudi Sports for All Federation, in cooperation with the Saudi Tennis Federation, launched the Tennis for All program in a number of schools in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam, which includes three phases dedicated to the preparation and education of students in primary, secondary and secondary schools. both sexes, ages 6 to 18. The program is the second phase since its launch, and the second phase aims to launch the program in schools in 3 main cities, 10 schools in each city, after which the third phase of the launch of the tennis championship among ten schools in each city begins.
The 6-month Tennis for All program aims to introduce the practice of tennis, create a healthy sports community for diverse segments of society, and strengthen and disseminate the sport of “school tennis” through a comprehensive educational model for schoolchildren to ensure accessibility and tennis for all ages, and to pave the way for students who want to continue playing or participating in the sport after completing programs throughout the Kingdom.
The Saudi Arabian Tennis Federation, in cooperation with the Saudi Arabian Federation of Sports for All and in agreement with the Ministry of Education, launched the Tennis for All public program in early January in the first phase, as it began with physical education classes. teachers.
Those who have been selected by the Ministry of Education for the best practices regarding tennis laws and the best methods for teaching the game of tennis, especially since this game is relatively new in the Kingdom’s schools.
The Tennis for All program is a national sports program that supports the development of tennis-related motor skills and raises awareness of the importance of physical activity to prepare for the application of new sports experiences in physical education classes in schools, as it focuses on the training of physical education teachers and teaching them tennis, and adding it to physical education classes in schools in a way that promotes the Tennis for All project.
The program is designed to educate 4,500 male and female students in three cities, where the schools in each city are divided into 5 schools for girls and 5 schools for boys.
Initial training sessions begin with six sessions where the best players who have mastered the basic skills in the game are selected, and the second stage includes 10 sessions in the form of competitive matches within the school, and the third stage will be held in the form of tournaments between schools in the same city, where the best players compete at the end of the program in the final tournament in the same city, while the Saudi Arabian Tennis Federation will train and supervise outstanding players after the end of the program and prepare them for international tournaments.
In the same context, the Saudi Sports Federation for All aims to work side by side with the Saudi Tennis Federation and the Ministry of Education in the pursuit of making tennis accessible to all, hoping that this ambitious program will be the main impetus for the spread of tennis in the Kingdom, not only that the number students will continue in the program. Rather, it aims to achieve sustainability in increasing physical activity among members of society.
The Saudi Sports for All Federation has worked to develop this program in an educational manner appropriate to the target segment to make it an attractive and educational opportunity in school curricula, which will raise the spirit of competition among all to apply it to new venues. which will be built in the future throughout the Kingdom.
