The International Monetary Fund has agreed to extend Somalia’s bailout program to three years.
The head of the International Monetary Fund mission in Somalia, Laura Jaramillo Mayor, said: “The extension will give time to confirm agreements on aid policy with the new government and confirm financial guarantees with development partners.”
“The IMF will work with the authorities to provide the IMF Executive Office with an overview of the ECF mechanism in the coming weeks,” said Head of Mission Laura Mairo.
