Several people were injured in a collision between a passenger train and a locomotive in Slovakia.
TV Marchesa estimated that at least 50 people were injured on Friday night, after the channel had previously indicated that at least 100 were injured.
The Bratislava Ministry of Transport and the state railway company confirmed the accident to the Slovak news agency TASR.
The ministry said the train stopped due to a malfunction and was hit by a rescue locomotive, but did not provide any information on the number of casualties or deaths.
On social media, the police urged drivers not to drive up to the accident site near the municipality of Strykno in northern Slovakia to facilitate the arrival of firefighters and rescue vehicles.
The Ministry of Transport said Transport Minister André Dolezal was on his way to the scene near an important railway junction.
There the railways meet inland to the capital Bratislava and also to the Czech Republic.
