Senegalese President Macky Sall has pledged his full support to international star Idriss Gan Guy, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, following a French media campaign against him over his refusal to play the matchday 37 in Montpellier because of homosexuals.
Je soutiens Idrissa Gana Guye. Ses beliefs religieuses doivent être respectées.
— Macky Sall (@Macky_Sall) May 17, 2022French President Macron indicated that Idrissa’s behavior supported homophobia and was called by the French Federation’s “Ethics” committee to investigate his case and asked him to wear their colored flag to correct his grave mistake. The Paris Saint-Germain team played a match in Montpellier wearing a shirt painted in the colors of the Sodomy banner in support of homosexuality, which was rejected by the Muslim Idriss Gana Ji because it was not in line with his Islamic beliefs.
In response, the President of Senegal, Maki Sall, posted a tweet on his personal Twitter account saying: “I support Idriss Gan Ghai, his religious beliefs must be respected.” Idrissa was called in for an investigation by the Ethics Committee of the French Federation to explain the reason for his absence from the 37th round and his refusal to wear a T-shirt with the colors of the gay symbol. The National Council of Ethics of the French Federation demanded that Idrissa Ghana show up urgently in a gay support t-shirt to correct his blunder (as they described it). Several players such as Shekho Kuyati and Ismaila Sarr supported him and said (You are a real man, we are with you) and their words angered supporters of this category, and some demanded an investigation because they support Idriss, who supports homophobia.
