Hunter Biden Files Lawsuit Against Rudy Giuliani and Others Over Alleged Data Violations
Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, has taken legal action against former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, his companies, and another attorney. The lawsuit alleges violations of computer fraud and data access related to a laptop computer that Biden reportedly left at a Delaware repair shop.
In the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles federal court, Biden claims that the defendants played a significant role in the destruction of his digital privacy and data. Giuliani, along with other individuals and conservative media outlets, have been targeting Biden since 2020, focusing on the alleged contents of the laptop.
Giuliani provided information from the laptop to The New York Post prior to the 2020 election, leading to the publication of a story suggesting that President Biden may have had involvement with a Ukrainian company that employed Hunter. These claims, based partly on laptop information, are now under scrutiny in an impeachment inquiry.
In addition to Giuliani, the lawsuit also names Robert Costello, an attorney who previously represented Giuliani, as a defendant. Biden accuses the defendants of hacking, tampering, manipulating, and disseminating his data, which was later sent to Giuliani and Costello. The suit alleges that the data was manipulated and damaged before being copied.
It is important to note that the lawsuit does not confirm whether the Delaware repair shop owner, John Paul Mac Isaac, possessed a laptop containing Biden’s data. However, it acknowledges that Mac Isaac obtained electronically stored data, some of which belonged to Biden.
Recently, Hunter Biden faced criminal charges related to the purchase and possession of a handgun while using illegal drugs. He was also previously charged with failure to pay federal income taxes. Biden has also filed a separate lawsuit against the IRS, claiming the unauthorized disclosure of his tax return information.
