The results of the vote in the US House of Representatives showed that the House rejected a resolution to withdraw US troops from Syria.
In support of the document, which called on US President Joe Biden to withdraw the US army from Syria, only 103 deputies voted in favor, 321 against.
Rep. Matt Goetz, co-sponsor of the resolution, urged the administration to explain the presence or withdrawal of US troops in Syria, and the House of Representatives to clarify its position on the issue.
The draft resolution states that the number of US forces in Syria is 900 people, although Congress did not approve this.
“Until today, Congress has in no way approved the presence of US military forces in Syria,” the MP said in a statement.
Goetz indicated that the House of Representatives must put the draft resolution to a vote within 18 days of the date of its introduction, as it concerns issues of war and peace.
