Dr. Muhammad Basim, head of the Center for Sports Arbitration, declined to disclose the reasons that led to the resignation of arbitrator Sultan Al-Samil, stating: “I cannot disclose the reason for the resignation of arbitrator Sultan Al-Samil, this is a secret. This happened during the first periodical conference of the Ministry of Sports yesterday, Wednesday, where it was explained that Al-Samel is competent and submitted a reasoned request to resign, and we accepted this, and he is trusted, like all sports referees.
He also gave up on Dr. Bassem spoke about the case of Abdul Razzaq Hamdallah, saying “I will not speak and will not resolve any outstanding issues because we are dealing with them in complete secrecy and this is a red line.”
He continued, “We did not break the rules in the Hamdallah case. We are waiting for the arbitration panel to complete this case in order to appeal it again and make a final decision.”
The head of the Saudi Arabian Sports Arbitration Center said: They follow the principle of equality in dealing with all parties, and we strive for independence, impartiality, fairness and equality between all parties, and the principle of confidentiality is at the core of our work.
He added: “We strive not to disrupt any procedures at the center and each case is different due to reasons. Therefore, there is a discrepancy in the timing of decisions, and the nature of the work of the center does not require the presence of an official representative, but we will discuss this in the future, and we issued statements in response to the need for a sports street for clarification.
Dr. Bassem emphasized that the Center for Sports Arbitration is the supreme and exclusive body for the adjudication of sports disputes, and the Center has a responsibility to accurately seek justice and deal with the case from all sides.
